"No, I, uh, I don’t mind!" Freddie insisted, nodding at her pleasantly and brushing away with the apology with a brief wave of his hand. "I have one older brother, one younger sister. You have siblings, right? With interesting names too?"
She gave a small smile when he said it was ok, glad that he didn’t feel she was prying. “The middle child” She noted before nodding that he was correct “There’s my older brother Iago, younger sister Cassandra and then the youngest is Harry, dad named him though hence the more normal name”
"Oh, I wouldn’t make it that complicated. I just know they’re dicks!"
She laughed “That definitely works too”
The affection in her voice was clear and Freddie’s smile grew warmer. “That’s nice of her. My, uh, parents weren’t really into the whole imaginative naming thing. Not that I mind. A simpler name is, uh, better for me.”
She smiled “But not a boring one” She added. “So do you have any siblings? Sorry, feel free to stop me if I’m getting nosey” She chuckled. “I have a habit of letting my curiosity get the better of me”
The laugh that slipped from Sienna’s lips was remarkably cheery. “Oh, I don’t pay any attention to people like that! They’re never worth the effort.” she replied, brushing her hair to one side.
"If they want to put you down they never are. I’m a firm believer that those who tell you you can’t do something are just bitter because they would never think to do it."
"Oh." The young man blushed again, embarrassed at how far he had taken the misunderstanding, and flashed a rather sheepish smile at Nymeria. "At least you, uh, have an interesting story behind it, then." he muttered.
"I probably should have been a little clearer in my meaning" She said with a light chuckle, seeming to think nothing of his misunderstanding. "I suppose that’s true. My mother liked picking interesting names for us that’s for sure."
"Yeah, because she does it alone(!) I just meant she’s awesome because she doesn’t take any crap, whoever she talks to. That kind of confidence has to be admired."
"Are there are those who say women shouldn’t be in positions of power." She remarked, showing she agreed with the other girl.
A frown creased the young man’s features in his confusion. “But… it’s not fictional? I mean, you’re a real person. At least I, uh, hope you are. You’re not a duplicate or anything like that?” he stuttered, glancing over his shoulder for any sign of someone using their powers.
"I’m as real as you are I promise" She said with a bright smile "But my name was made up for a book. My mother meet the author before I was born and was rather taken with the name"
"Oh, she’s not. Lunsford’s a pretty awesome woman, all things considered. People are just… stubborn."
"Unfortunately there will always be people like that. I can imagine I’ll agree with you should I ever meet her, I mean you have to be pretty awesome to run a place like this and keep it a secret from the world."
"O-oh." Freddie responded, a blush coming briefly to his cheeks at his mistake. "Well, in any case, it’s, uh, a very pretty name. I’ve never heard it before." he murmured, his gaze avoiding hers.
"Thank you" She said with a bright smile. "It’s actually fictional. I guess that’s probably why it doesn’t have a meaning."
